Group Arrival INFORMATION

ARRIVALS BY COACH

The hostel is located in a residential area and we have a duty of care to the residents surrounding the hostel to ensure they are not disturbed by coaches arriving or departing the hostel.

The coach drop off and pick up point is Judd Street. For the safety of the group members please ensure the doors to the coach are facing the footpath and not the roadside. The group members will not be able to board or disembark the coach and the driver will be required to turn around should the doors be facing the roadside.

The coach should be stationary for the minimum amount of time possible.

As you approach the hostel it is essential to contact our Reservations Team on 0044-207-3887655 so we are able to meet you on Judd Street when you arrive. We ask that the group members remain on the coach until all bags have been removed from the vehicle and that they exit in small groups of no more than 5 people at a time to ensure there is no over crowding on the street.

The group will enter the building via our Judd Street entrance and once inside our team will take the group into the bar/seating area. This is where the group will gather for check in.

If you will be using coaches through out your stay for day trips please ensure you inform reception of the dates and times coaches will be arriving and departing the hostel during your stay.

ARRIVAL BY TUBE

If you are arriving to the hostel by tube to Kings Cross Station it is essential to contact our Reservations Team on 0044-207-3887655 as you are approaching the hostel. The group will enter the building via our Judd Street entrance and once inside our team will take the group into the bar/seating area. This is where the group will gather for check in.

NOISE

As mentioned the hostel is in a residential area and we have to respect our neighbours. Your group can come and go as they please however each guest will need their key cards with them at all times. We do ask that when they enter and exit the building they are quiet.

If you need to gather your group together to exit the building please do so inside the building and not outside in front of the hostel as this will reduce the chances of noise disturbing our neighbours.

Inside the building the corridors of each floor are a quiet zone from 10pm to 8am to ensure all our guests are able to get a good night’s sleep.

To ensure that noise is kept to a minimum during the night we have a dedicated " Night Entrance" between 22.00hrs - 06.00hrs.

CHECK IN

All rooms of our hostel feature a highly secure and reliable key card system for access. Each group member will be issued a key. They are required to have this key with them when they exit the building as they will need to show it to our Door Security staff to re-enter the building on their return.

At check in you are required to complete a rooming list. You are kindly asked to provide the full names of each guest and the names and contact numbers of the leaders traveling with the group in case we need to contact them.

Please also provide your estimated check out time and method to our reception team so we are able to make necessary arrangements with you.

CHECK OUT

On the day of departure, the group leader is kindly requested to collect all key cards from their group and hand them to reception.

Your group can use our luggage room free of charge, please see reception who will give you a key to place your bags in there. For valuable items, passports, money, mobiles, electrical equipment etc. we have secure lockers located in the basement level.

YOUR STAY

We have a Duty manager on shift 24 hours a day, should you need anything, please ask Reception to see the Manager who will be more than happy to deal with your request.

SECURITY

We have a security team and 24 hour CCTV. Our team are here to ensure your group has a safe and secure stay. Corridors should be kept quiet after 9pm as some guests may be sleeping - café, chill out and bar areas are open till late.

SMOKING

Generator Hostel is smoke free, therefore no smoking is permitted anywhere inside the building. A fine of £100 will be charged if the alarm is set off or tampered with. We have a designated smoking area outside. No food or alcohol is allowed in this area and there is a maximum of 15 people at any one time to use the facility.

LASER POINTERS

For health and safety reasons the use of laser pointers are not permitted in Generator Hostel. Laser pointers can cause eye injuries directly, and dangerous situations by distraction. Please ensure that your students are aware of this and do not bring them into the hostel. A fine of £100 will be charged if a laser pointer is found to be used and the item will be confiscated.

TRAVEL DESK

The Travel Desk is open from 8am - 10pm selling a range of toiletries & travel products that you may have forgotten on your travels.

BAR

Ideal for groups who are 18+ who want to party together, every night is different. The bar is open from 5pm - 2am.

We host fun nightly games and prize giveaways, monthly theme parties. If you are a large group, you can speak to the bar manager to organise a special VIP party just for you. Over 18’s only in the bar - I.D will be requested. Due to licence requirements, alcohol not purchased from our Bar or Café is NOT allowed on our premises. This will be confiscated by our staff for collection at check out.
